510-17 How to prepare the samples before the Air Jet Sieve works?

Before the particle size analysis, the sample should be prepared effectively to ensure the accuracy and repeatability of the analysis. So how do we ensure that? Generally speaking, at first, the existing state of the sample should be maintained without damaging its original representativeness, and then the sample quantity should be sufficient to meet the demand of particle size analysis.For samples subject to agglomerate, use a air jet sieve screen 710 micrometer to disperse before test.

In terms of airflow sieving resin sample, the sample size required for each sieving is 25g. The smaller particle size of the sample, the smaller the amount of sample required such as about 10g.
Except as otherwise noted, sieving test shall be conducted according to the receiving state of the sample. If the sample is not detected when received, it should be kept in an airtight container and in accordance with all conditions for storing dry powder.
In terms of resin, static electricity can have a big effect. In order to eliminate the influence of static electricity on air flow sieving, we can put in some antistatic material such as 0.5% y-aluminium oxide. Unless otherwise specified, put it in the resin at the beginning of sieving.
In terms of lactose medicinally used excipient, usually put in 0.1g aluminum oxide when sieving.
